About the Society

Back To Index

The International-NO-MO-MOJO Society was founded in 1989 by a group of concerned citizens, former alumni, clergy, Native Americans and of course Midlanders.

The NO-MO Advisory Council has deep roots in the Permian Basin dating back to the 1920’s. We do not identify or otherwise publicly acknowledge members for fear of reprisal by more fanatical factions of the MOJOIAN Faith. We realize that some readers have no sense of humor and may not approve of our deprogramming efforts.

The purpose of this website is to help the afflicted to begin the process of questioning their unswerving, life long devotion and obedience to PHS and Moojesis-Felineous.

For benefit of our non Permian Basin readers a brief overview of Odessa, Texas is required. The MOJOIAN faithful reside in a semi arid land (also known as a desert) in West Texas. This is a land filled with strange dragon-like creatures (called horny toads), 8 foot statues of jackrabbits and even a business employing gigantic fiberglass cow skulls to promote their wares.

As if the stigma of growing up with gigantic cow skulls weren't enough to send the typical Citizen into psychotherapy, Odessa is also home to the most rabid, chanting, football worshiping people on planet earth. From cradle to grave MOJOIANS have one singularity of life’s purpose – high school football. All political, social and economic systems in the West Texas town revolve around and are controlled in large part by the success or failure of the MOJO.

The Society is not the only organization that has attempted to break the bonds of MOJOISM. Many over the past five decades have undertaken the daunting task and failed. Sadly some even ended up endorsing the very football centric lifestyle they were designed to expose.

We understand the MOJOIANS because we grew up in the Permian Basin, we walked among them on a daily basis, dated their daughters (secretly of course), even broke bread with them at Taco Villa. Except for their worshiping Moojesis-Felineous we would even call them friends.
